There’s a sense of nostalgia looking at Prada’s new Fall Winter 2010 Ad Campaign. Set in a club scene, with couples apparently getting pretty intimate with each other.

Go back to those romantic, uncomplicated yesteryear which reminds you of the good old days in the fifties. However, they could have replaced that modern looking microphone with something more vintage for a more cohesive feel.

The women’s series of ads gets presented in ‘technicolour’ while the men’s series is in pure black and white. The camouflage print is clearly seen on the handbag on the 3rd ad, which is poised to be the key design accent for Prada’s Fall Winter 2010 collection.

One thing amiss from these shots by Steven Meisel is that the whole group shot (especially from the coloured series) looked over posed and digitally put together. The woes of modern digital photography. We sometimes rely too much on technology and those charming ‘imperfections’ in traditional photography is lost.

Burberry unveils their new Fall Winter 2010 Ad Campaign and they do not disappoint I love this new series of shots utilising different coloured background that compliment the clothes’ colour tones.

Individual products and cast respond to user controlled commands allowing for maximum interactivity. This fully immersive feature is a first for global luxury fashion advertising and successfully reinforce Burberry’s heritage, innovation and digital creativity.

There are 14 images and 6 interactive videos to showcase the entire family of Burberry’s Autumn Winter 2010 collections. Motion responsive images and video can be clicked, rotated, paused and dragged 180 degrees!

For Fall Winter 2009, Kris Van Assche commissioned Italian artist Andrea Mastrovito to realise his collection as one man’s journey through a natural and built environment, in black and white pencil drawings on A4 paper. Tethering the sun like a balloon on a kite-string, fighting with serpents in the forest, chased by black bats in the city, and leafing through a newspaper as flowers blow away on pages in the breeze – Kris’s character is a wandering man, toying with nature as it plays with him too.

In the illustrations, Mastrovito depicts the travelling muse wearing long cotton shirts, wrapped coats and a hooded cape, dark blazers, hi-top sneakers and boots from the runway collection. With messy cropped hair, a beard and moustache, he is masculine and somewhat wild – though with a disheveled elegance to his outfits that speaks Kris’s aesthetic with purity and ease. There is even a baseball cap thrown in for good measure.
